Help Us Move Again is currently fully operational. Moving Companies have been deemed an essential service by both state and local government due to the critical service they provide to the community and families who are in transition. We recognize this situation is changing daily and we are dealing with any specific move related issues immediately and on a case-by-case basis. Businesses that are designated as “essential” are urged to follow social distancing protocols in accordance with guidance from the Department of Public Health. We have implemented the following operational procedures for all upcoming moves to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees and our customers during this viral outbreak. Operational Procedures (effective 3/26/20) Customers must be prepared to leave their home for the duration of the move after the initial walk-through is completed with the moving crew.

Customers must provide access to soap and running water at all move locations.

It is essential that crew members are able to wash their hands throughout the progression of the move.

If the customer has access to masks or face covers, we ask that they wear them during the walk-through with the moving crew.

If masks are unavailable, please maintain safe distances of 1 meter or more at all times.

Our Crew Chiefs will be prepared to do much of their interaction with customers through phone calls, text, and/or FaceTime during the progression of the move.

Customers will be asked to return at the end of the move review the Bills of Lading and any additional documentation.

Because we feel that any opportunity for interaction should be limited, we are waiving the requirement to sign the paperwork.

Help Us Move Again remains committed to providing the superior service and support that you have come to rely on. Please reach out to your Move Coordinator or any other member of the Help Us Move Again team with any questions and/or concerns you may have about your move with Help Us Move Again.

Packing Tips to Make Moving a Breeze

Moving can be a major hassle, and packing up all your belongings can be the most daunting part. It doesn’t have to be! Here are some tips and tricks to make packing up your home one less headache. Pack up less-used items first: Seasonal items such as winter coats (or summer wardrobe, depending on what time of year you move) can be packed up and put away early on. Since you won’t be needing them, get ahead of the game and check these items off your packing list. Speaking of clothing, keep your clothes on their hangers: Instead of removing them off the hangers and painstakingly re-hanging them once you unpack, simply pull a (clean!) sturdy garbage bag around the hangers and tie at the top. If you have a lot of clothes, consider a clear bag to make it easy to find what you need. Packing according to room: It’s easy to lose track of your belongings, especially smaller and seldom used items. Try to pack room by room, and keep the boxes together to avoid losing anything. It can get overwhelming to pack up your entire home, and going room by room can break it up into more manageable steps! Label your boxes: Another way to keep tracking your belongings is to label your boxes. You can label according to room, type of items (clothing, books, kitchenware, linens, etc.) or who they belong to. Get creative! You can use different colored markers, different colored tape, fun drawings, or whatever you can think of! If you have kids, this a way to involve them in the move and make it fun. Be sure to label the sides, not the tops of boxes! Want to take it one step further? Number your boxes! It can be nearly impossible to keep track of every single box during the day of the big move. By giving each box a specific number, you can make sure they’re all accounted for. You can even make a handy note on your smartphone to let you know how many total boxes you have to keep track of. Choose the right boxes: Some boxes are specifically designed for heavier items such as books or dishes. Remember to choose smaller boxes for heavier items to avoid having one big, heavy box. Use your linens as double duty for packing: For those larger, bulkier, and more fragile items, use any extra blankets, towels, and bedding to make sure they’re protected. After all, you’ll have to pack your linens regardless, might as well multitask! Speaking of multitasking, Use storage bins and luggage as extra packing space: Take advantage of any empty space and pack up any miscellaneous items in your suitcases, laundry baskets, and any other large storage containers. Set aside important items that you plan to move yourself: If there are items you don’t want movers to transport, set them aside from all other boxes, and let the movers know you’ll be taking responsibility for them. Items of sentimental value or high monetary value should be treated with care. Clean as you pack: As you finish packing a room or a segment of your house, take a few minutes to wipe down any surfaces that you don’t usually clean. Doing a little at a time can make the move less overwhelming, and you won’t have to clean the whole space after a long day of moving and unpacking in your new home. Keep ziploc bags handy: You might need to break down furniture and take televisions off the walls. It’s easy to lose track of the hardware, such as screws, nails, and other small pieces. Use a clear ziploc bag to store these small items safely. You can either tape the bag to the item it belongs to, or keep it on you for when you begin unpacking. Take pictures of electronics and their cables: After unpacking and setting up in your new home, the last thing you want is being unable to figure out how to reconnect your TV, cable box, and sound system. Take a quick picture of how and where each cable connects to reconnect them with ease. Saran wrap can help avoid any nasty spills: When packing bathroom and kitchen items, use saran wrap between a bottle and the lid to avoid liquid spills. Use this on shampoos, cleaning supplies, even pantry essentials that can be packed ahead. This might take a bit of extra time, but will be well worth it to evade any troublesome messes. Pack an overnight bag for you and your family: After a long hard day of moving and unloading your belongings into your new home, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Take a little time for yourself and have a bag of essentials at the ready. Pack a change of clothes, some toiletries for a quick shower, phone chargers, and some light snacks will make all the difference at the end of a long day.

On March 14, the World Health Organization declared that the ongoing coronavirus outbreak evolved into a pandemic, with the potential to spread to all countries in the world. What does all of this mean to you and your loved ones, and how does it affect your upcoming relocation? It’s up to you to behave responsibly and follow the prescribed rules of conduct in order to reduce the risk of infection. On the other hand, it’s up to us to do everything in our power to ensure your safety while relocating your belongings. That’s why we’ve incorporated additional precautionary measures into our relocation procedures: Our trucks are being cleaned dailyThe crew wears masks and gloves all the time, and the sick movers stay at homeThere is a sanitizer in every truck and warehouse Equipment used for moving is cleaned and disinfected daily as well When it comes to your part, start by increasing your hygiene. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially if you sneeze, cough, blow your nose, or touch something outside. Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose, or mouth) or other people without washing the hands first. This is a virus that is spread person-to-person, so you should limit your physical contact with others as much as possible. Use a hand sanitizer and take it everywhere with you, but make sure it has at least 60% of alcohol. With it, you can clean your hands but also the surfaces you need to touch. Even though there is still no vaccine for Coronavirus, we should all, as a community, take care of each other, and make every effort to stem the outbreak. Remember, prevention procedures don’t take much of our time, but can mean a world of difference to someone particularly vulnerable.
